At the end of November 2017, our Convention!!! bureau participated in the IBTM congress tourism fair in Barcelona – one of the world’s largest MICE events, welcoming 15 000 congress tourism professionals from all over the world.

Our presentation formed part of the display organized by the Czech Tourism agency. As always, the atmosphere at IBTM was vibrant and full of energy – offering many opportunities to meet colleagues from new agencies and get in touch with buyers from all over the world. The majority of the buyers present at the event were from European countries.

Our presentation set out all the key information about Ostrava: where we are, how to get here, plus of course the full range of congress venues and details of incentive programmes. We also launched our new promo videos, which met with a great response from buyers. As in previous years, delegates’ interest focused mainly on our unique industrial venues and our sporting and cultural events. Next year we plan to organize a fam trip and invite the most promising buyers – not only those we met at IBTM, but also buyers from Czech agencies.
