Last week, Ostrava welcomed a group of 12 buyers from French agencies active in the MICE segment. Although they were in Ostrava for just one day, they enjoyed an action-packed programme showcasing the various types of congresses and events that the city can host.

In July Ostrava hosted the TBEX 2018 conference, which has given the city’s online presence a massive boost. Ostrava has been featured not only on social media, but also in articles, blogs and vlogs all over the world – including Australia, Brazil, America and French-speaking countries.

One of the most commonly heard words in Ostrava last week was FAN-TAS-TIC – closely followed by AWE-SOME. Ostrava was the host city for the TBEX EUROPE 2018 international conference of bloggers and YouTubers – and it was a great adventure for everybody!

TBEX (Travel Blog Exchange) is the world’s largest conference and networking event for travel bloggers, online travel journalists, new media content creators, travel brands and industry professionals. The venue for TBEX Europe 2018 is Ostrava, which will host the event from 26–28 July.

At the end of November 2017, our Convention!!! bureau participated in the IBTM congress tourism fair in Barcelona – one of the world’s largest MICE events, welcoming 15 000 congress tourism professionals from all over the world.

From 12–15 November Prague hosted one of the most the most eagerly awaited events of the year – the 2017 Congress of the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association). And of course, Ostrava was there.

This autumn, we organized four workshops for partners of the Convention!!! project, all focusing on how best to harness the huge potential of social media in today’s world.

We’ve launched a new website for the Convention!!! project. The site promotes Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region as an ideal destination for a wide range of events.
